In 2006, Gary Burmylo joined the Firm as Chief Operating Officer to lead the healthcare vertical and is one of the nations leading experts on applying recruitment technology and process excellence within the healthcare arena. DeFoe Associates Principals Professional Biographical Overview | Christopher DeFoe brings 15 years of HR systems experience to his role as CEO and one of the principals of DeFoe Associates. His strong background in systems evaluation, implementation, conversion, and change management has been employed at major organizations (Fortune 500, health care, public sector) across the globe. He has worked with most of the major Talent Management Technology vendors and has a thorough understanding of the technologies available today as well as the best practices for leveraging them to the fullest. a. Mr. DeFoe is an extremely experienced and capable project manager focusing on strategic Human Resources technology, including talent management (recruitment, performance and learning management) and HRIS systems. As a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), he understands both the business intricacies and the appropriate role of supporting technology. Previously he was a Director with Answerthink (now known as The Hackett Group) managing their Hiring Management Systems practice, and prior to that he managed the Recruitment Automation practice for consulting groups for Cedar (previously the Hunter Group). Prior to consulting, Mr. DeFoe’s practitioner experience includes managing Prudential’s centralized recruiting system and automating all recruiting within the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. |
| Gary Burmylo is Chief Operating Officer and one of the Principals of DeFoe Associates. Mr. Burmylo and the firm focus on assisting clients in selecting, implementing and optimizing HRIS, recruitment, performance and learning management technologies. With over 20 years of Human Resources experience, Mr. Burmylo has held senior management roles on the both the client and vendor sides. On the client side he spent 8 years directing Recruitment and Retention for Frankford Hospitals, a division of the Thomas Jefferson University Health System in Philadelphia PA, where he pioneered the automation of recruitment services. Mr. Burmylo also held various "hands on" positions on both the HR and HRIS sides of the organization, developing and honing his skills as a seasoned HR professional from the ground up. On the vendor side Mr. Burmylo has 9+ years experience in business development and client services for talent optimization companies. Working as the Vice President of Sales and Client Services he identified with the strategic needs and challenges of the HR marketplace in order to build and grow HR specific technology companies. Hence he understands the breadth and depth of detail involved in designing and configuring talent optimization solutions to automate HR processes, and the idiosyncrasies with regard to implementing these types of solutions in all organizations. Specializing in the healthcare industry, Mr. Burmylo’s understanding of healthcare specific processes, challenges and business objectives, as well as his overall talent management technology knowledge, and experience, provide the perfect synergy to any healthcare HR optimization project. |
